This practical workshop series will introduce the students to different materials and techniques used for modern jewellery making.
Techniques will include the Japanese braiding technique of 'Kumihimo', geometric cutting of plyable materials such as leather and felt, working with malleable materials such as polymer clay, resin & wire. Each week they will photograph their work and make note of the processes pros and cons.
In the final 2 sessions they will choose a technique to develop into a marketable jewellery range, they will need to consider their target market, marketing strategy and packaging. They will then pitch their idea to the other attendees during the final workshop.
