PortfolioMy name is Gemma, owner of Lark, a mobile craft business based in South Wales. I believe that craft is accessible to all, people often ask me why I don't sell what I make but I simply enjoy the process of teaching others to make things instead. My specialisms are jewellery and leather crafts but I enjoy learning and teaching many others too. Take a look at what workshops are on offer at www.larkdesignmake.com

Leather Crafting - I offer workshops in beginners leather crafting, outcomes include a sunglasses case, book cover, ID holder, wallet, passport case, belt and leather jewelry. A new popular workshop is a combined material project where leather handles are added to a cotton tote bag. Workshop sessions vary from 2 hours to 4 hours.

Resin Jewellery -A two part workshop, in session one you will learn about the properties of resin and learn mixing skills, you will pour into moulds and add a range of provided decorations but feel free to bring small items or keepsakes that you would like encased in resin. Experimentation is a big part of resin jewelry making so you will make up to 15 pieces. They will then be to cure and in the next session you will please them from their moulds and turn into keyring, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches.

Bamboo Bicycle - Probably my proudest crafting achievement was the manufacture of a bicycle frame made from just bamboo, leather, twine and a lot of resin! It wouldn't have been possible with the direction of Marco of BBS (Bamboo Bikes Shanghai). And before you ask, yes, its super strong, light and a fab ride!
Leather Sandals - Whilst in Chicago, I visited the fabulous School of Leather Shoe Making and with the help of Sara made a super comfortable pair of sandals, I would like to develop a simpler version of these sandals which could be offered in a one day course - watch this space!

Crochet - I travel a lot so I decided to take up crochet as a nice option to keep my crafty needs fulfilled on those long journeys, project 1 was a Corner 2 Corner (C2C) Christmas blanket.. 9 months later I had finished it!
